The ideal setting for your reception
Two reception spaces are available to you: the château’s reception rooms and the Orangery.
These fully independent venues can host events ranging from 30 to 250 guests.
You are free to choose your own suppliers, including caterers, florists, decorators, sound and lighting professionals, or any other service provider, allowing you to create a reception that truly reflects your style.
Evening receptions can continue until 5:00 a.m.
The Château
Cocktail receptions and wedding toasts, seated dinners, dancing evenings… Receptions take place on the ground floor of the château, in an elegant sequence of four rooms adorned with paintings and 18th-century wood paneling.
The Château’s reception rooms offer a variety of configurations to suit your event and your expectations:
- The “Salon Empire”and the “Salon Doré”, offering 140 m² of reception space.
- The “Salon Empire”, the “Salon Doré” and the “Salon des Quatre Saisons” with a total surface area of 190 m².
- For larger receptions, these rooms can be extended by the “Grande Galerie”, offering up to 290 m² of adjoining reception spaces.
These spaces can accommodate up to 250 guests in a prestigious setting steeped in history.
The rental of the reception rooms also includes access to the prestigious French formal gardens, classified as “Remarkable Gardens”.
The reflecting pool, statues, yew trees and carefully trimmed boxwood create a spectacular setting, ideal for hosting your ceremony, cocktails and photo sessions.
A fully equipped kitchen, a bedroom and restrooms are also available.
The Orangery
On the garden side, the 19th-century Orangery offers a bright, charming countryside setting for your weddings and private receptions.
- The Orangery is a 170 m² single-space venue that can accommodate up to 150 seated guests.
- It can be combined with the 60 m² Pheasantry, providing additional space.
Surrounded by the Jardin des Princes, Italian-style terraces and a boxwood maze, it provides an ideal setting for your cocktails and photographs.
Its additional facilities include a fully equipped kitchen, a cloakroom, restrooms and two small lounges.

FAQ
The reception spaces are fully privatized for your wedding. The estate remains open to visitors until the park closes (8 p.m. in summer). However, visitor numbers decrease significantly at the end of the afternoon, and there are very few visitors from 4:30 p.m. / 5:30 p.m. onwards. This activity does not affect the smooth running of your reception.
Château de Breteuil hosts receptions for 30 to 250 guests, depending on the space chosen and the layout of your event. The château’s reception rooms and the Orangery are suitable for both intimate weddings and larger celebrations.
We recommend choosing your caterer from our selection of service providers who are familiar with working at Château de Breteuil. However, you are free to choose the provider of your choice.
An apartment located on the estate, with three bedrooms, can accommodate the newlyweds or some members of their family. Many hotels, holiday cottages and guest houses are also located near Château de Breteuil.
