Accommodations for persons with special needs
We are committed to providing an accessible attraction, and we strive to ensure that special needs visitors can enjoy their visit at Château de Breteuil, to be a ‘Castle for All’.
However, restoring a historical monument without altering it can be a major challenge.
Visit chateau de Breteuil
A tour of the château is accessible to individuals with limited mobility; however it is difficult for wheelchairs since visitors must go up and down a staircase; there is no lift.
A Touch Tour of the Château is available for the visually impaired with a dedicated guide who will make you appreciate our collection of works of art. There is no extra charge for the touch tour but advance booking is required.
At this time, the château is not equipped with an audio system for the hearing impaired.
Visit the gardens of Breteuil
Where possible we make provisions to ensure the site is accessible for wheelchairs. Some of our Park walks cover uneven terrain (cobblestones, gravel….) but several alleys have been redesigned to comfortably accommodate wheelchair access to all the gardens, as well as the picnic area and the toilets for the disabled.
See the Perrault’s Fairy Tales Scenes
Perrault’s Fairy Tales Scenes are accessible to individuals with limited mobility except for visitors who use wheelchairs. Access to ‘Sleeping Beauty’ and ‘Tom Thumb’ is via stairs, other scenes are reached after walking up and down steps.
