On this page, you will find all the information you need to visit the Château de Breteuil, its gardens and park. This information is intended primarily for individual visitors.
OPENING HOURS FOR INDIVIDUAL VISITORS
The château and park are open every day throughout the year.
THE PARK AND THE PERRAULT FAIRY TALE DISPLAYS
The park opens daily at 10:00 am. Last admission ticket sold at 5:30 pm. The park closes at 7:00 pm in winter and 8:00 pm in summer.
THE CHÂTEAU
Monday to Friday : 2:30 pm – 5:30 pm*
Saturdays :
- From 10 January to 28 March andfrom 7 November to 12 December :
Guided tour at 12:00 pm, then open from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm* (guided tour at 4:30 pm). - From 4 April to 31 October :
Open from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm* and from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm* (guided tours at 12:30 pm and 4:30 pm). - Sundays and Public Holidays : Open from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm* and from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm* (guided tours at 12:30 pm and 4:30 pm).
- During Paris Region School Holidays :
- Monday to Friday : Open from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm* and from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm* (guided tours at 12:00 pm and 4:30 pm).
- Saturdays and Sundays : Open from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm* and from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm* (guided tours at 12:30 pm and 4:30 pm).
The exact time of your visit to the château interiors will be provided upon arrival. A guide will be available throughout the visit to answer any questions you may have.
Guided tours are available without reservation and at no additional charge.
STORYTELLING SESSION
Our storyteller welcomes children and adults at 4:30 pm every Saturday, Sunday and Public Holiday, as well as every day during Paris Region school holidays.

Finding us
Château de Breteuil is situated 35 km south-west of Paris, between Versailles and Rambouillet, in the Vallée de Chevreuse.
If you are using Sat Nav you can use these coordinates: : N 48° 40′ 46.0″ – E 2° 01′ 24.4″or the address « château de Breteuil, Choisel, 78460 Chevreuse » or « la ferme de la fillolière 78460 Choisel »
Coming from Paris:
At the Porte de Saint-Cloud, follow signs for ‘Bordeaux’. Cross the river Seine at the Sèvres bridge, take the N118 towards Bordeaux, Saclay exit, then follow the RN306 (then D906) to Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse. In Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse, before Chevreuse, follow signs for Les Molières and the route is marked with signs for “Château de Breteuil”.
Coming from the South of Paris :
At the Porte d’Italie or at the Porte d’Orléans, take the A6 towards Lyon then follow the A10 towards Bordeaux. Les Ulis exit, then follow the green signs for ‘Chartres’ and go to Gometz-la-Ville. In Gometz-la-Ville, follow signs for Les Molières and the route is marked with signs for ‘Château de Breteuil’. The Château de Breteuil is between les Molières and Cernay la Ville.
Coming from Bordeaux and Chartres : Accès par l’A10
Take the A10, exit Rochefort en Yvelines, (1st exit after Saint Arnould toll). Follow the signs for Bullion, Cernay-la-Ville or Dampierre and the route is marked with signs for ‘Château de Breteuil’
Coming from Normandy :
Take the A13 and then, near Versailles, follow the A12 towards Rambouillet. At the end of the A12, take the N10, still towards Rambouillet, for about 5km. Trappes exit, follow the signs (on the right) Mesnil-Saint-Denis. Turn left towards Le Mesnil-Saint-Denis then Chevreuse or Dampierre and the route is marked with signs for ‘Château de Breteuil’
Coming from Versailles :
In Buc, just off Versailles, take the D 938 towards Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse , then follow signs for Les Molières and the route is marked with signs for ‘Château de Breteuil’
BALADOBUS: From La Verrière station (Train N from Paris Montparnasse station), only on sundays and public holidays from June 13 to October 31, 2021.
